The fog of war is thick

The Economist’s Leader on Cyberwar: The meaning of Stuxnet summarises Cyberwar (and 4th / 5th Gen Warfare) rather succinctly:

It has also illustrated the murkiness of this sort of warfare. It is rarely clear who is attacking whom. It is hard to tell whether a strike has been successful, or indeed has happened at all. This, it seems, is what cyberwar looks like. Get used to it.

We have come to a stage in warfare where the fog of war is so thick it is impossible to see if there is any war going on.
